THE SOUTHSIDE CLUB, Inc. RULES


THE SOUTHSIDE CLUB, Inc. is separate from Alcoholics Anonymous, Alanon, and Ala-Teen, and is organized for the purpose of promoting those fellowships. THE SOUTHSIDE CLUB, Inc. is a membership club and, while non-members are welcome to attend meetings, membership support is encouraged to assure continued operation of our facility.

THE FOLLOWING RULES APPLY:
  1. The Southside Club hours are 5:45 AM to Midnight, Sunday through Saturday. Guests are permitted during The Southside Club hours when accompanied by a member during non-meeting times.
    1. NO ONE, INCLUDING MEMBERS, SHOULD BE IN THE CLUB FROM MIDNIGHT TO 5:45AM.
  2. THE SOUTHSIDE CLUB, Inc. reserves the right to expel from the premises any individual engaging in behavior deemed by the appointed Board members to be a violation of these Rules, or otherwise unruly, harassing, or counter-productive to the Club’s mission of enabling a safe and comfortable environment for 12-step recovery.
  3. No alcoholic beverages or mood-altering chemicals are permitted on the premises at any time.
  4. No firearms of any type are permitted within the confines of, or on the premises of, The Southside Club.
  5. No smoking or vaping is permitted within the confines of The Southside Club building;
    1. Smoking and vaping are permitted outside the building in the gazebo and on the exterior grounds but not on the porch.
  6. No gambling of any kind is permitted.
  7. No discharging of ANY type of fireworks is permitted within the confines of, or on the premises of, The Southside Club.
  8. NO PETS allowed in the Building.
    1. SERVICE & THERAPY DOGS are allowed, must be housebroken, shall have a harness, leash or other tether and under control of the owner at all times. Therapy dogs must be registered in the office along with a Dr's note stating the need for the dog.
  9. Requirement for membership is 30 days of continuous sobriety (not required of non-alcoholics).
    1. An electronic key will be issued to all dues paying members, will remain in the member’s possession at all times, and will not be loaned or duplicated.
    2. Any member more than 90 days in arrears on dues will be referred to the Membership Trustee for action.
    3. Loss of sobriety automatically terminates membership. The electronic key must be returned.
  10. To protect anonymity, members are requested to refrain from bringing into any Southside Club Closed Meeting, persons not directly concerned with the problem of alcoholism.
  11. Alcoholics Anonymous guidelines concerning attendance at open or closed meetings will be observed for all meetings held at the Southside Club.
Any violation of the above stated Rules and Regulations will be reviewed
by the Board of Trustees of Southside Club, Inc.
and appropriate action will be taken.

Southside Club Meeting Requirements
  • THE SOUTHSIDE CLUB, Inc. Board of Trustees reserves the right to approve any proposed meeting and the day and time for such proposed meeting.
  • THE SOUTHSIDE CLUB, Inc. requires an annually submission of the name and contact numbers of the meetings annual chairperson and treasurer. Failure to do so could result in the meeting being unable to use the facility for their meeting.
  • THE SOUTHSIDE CLUB, Inc. requires a weekly deposit of 60% of meeting collections, to be considered the meetings rent for facility usage.
  • Group coffee must be purchased from The Southside Club. See Coffee Trustee for more details.
  • All groups holding meetings at The Southside Club will be responsible for their own housekeeping at the conclusion of their meeting, to include emptying trash, clean trash off tables and straighten chairs.
